This is another excellent REO Speedwagon show shared by "bobobo" earlier this year.  This recording was sourced from a pre FM Westwood One LP set of the show.  The sounds is excellent, and as always, so was the band's performance too.

I love how great the Westwood One LP's "bobobo" has shared sound.  He has helped REO fans out a lot by his generous sharing of his collection he has built over the years, and not only of REO Speedwagon but of other artists too.  He has obviously taken excellent care of his LP's and his transfers of the LP's to digital formats like this one via a USB turntable are superb.  There is no clipping of the audio and everything looks and sounds perfect.

One thing I also love about these Westwood One broadcasts, or in this case a pre-FM recording, is how Gary Richrath's guitar always seems to stand out and he jams with his unique sound.  After Richrath's departure from the band in 1989, I really had thought the band would not survive without the Richrath guitar playing.  And I still felt this way early on when Dave Amato replaced Gary Richrath.  But thankfully, and pretty quickly too, Dave Amato took the music of REO Speedwagon and he learned it and fit right in on tours.  He is still REO's lead guitarist 25 years later and he has kept the band alive musically.  To me, the guitar playing in REO Speedwagon is one of the primary factors in why they're so good.  Of course the songs and every band member's playing are just as important to the band's success.  But to me the guitar was an irreplaceable part of the 1970's through 1980's REO.  But they found the one guitarist, Dave Amato, who was in it for the long haul and has been spectacular at making the songs
from before he was even in the band sound right.

I hope you enjoy the show...
